Pool Hours and Lap Swimming
The pool is open year-round. Please also note that we do not put out lane lines for lap swimming. We put cones on both ends of the pool to delineate swim lanes. The pool and hot tub always close 30 minutes before the club’s general closing time.
Summer (Labor Day through Memorial Day): Lap swimming is by reservation only between 6am to 12pm on weekdays, and 8am to 11am on weekends. Sunday through Friday there is a water aerobics class from 9am to 10am, so there is no lap swimming during that time.
Off-Season (Memorial Day through Labor Day): Lap swimming is by reservation only between 6am to 11am on weekdays, and 8am to 11am on weekends. Sunday through Friday there is a water aerobics class from 9am to 10am, so there is no lap swimming during that time. After 11am is free swim.
Swim Lessons and Team
The Oakland Hills Tennis Club offers swim lessons to all ages. Our swim programs priority is to have a safe and fun experience during instruction. Our pool is at 80 degrees and offers a baby pool, too, with a maximum depth of 2 feet and is also kept at 80 degrees. The Baby Pool is open from spring through fall. All lessons are based on a 30 minute time frame.

OHTC Swim Lessons
Hello!! Thank you for your interest in swim lessons here at Oakland Hills Tennis Club. There are 5 different levels of swim lessons to sign up for so that you can choose which level best suits your or your child‘s abilities. The pricing for lessons depends on membership or non–membership status, as well as whether you prefer private or semi–private lessons. All of our instructors are experienced swimmers and are super excited to teach all the amazing techniques and skills.
OHTC LEVELS The levels of different swim lessons allow you to choose you or your child‘s level of ability. These are simply guidelines for which level you or your child should be in.
1) Baby Shark – Little to no experience in an aquatic environment.
2) Tiny Shark – Comfortable in an aquatic environment, blowing bubbles or putting face in water, supported floating on front and back.
3) Beginner Shark – Comfortable in an aquatic environment, blowing bubbles and putting face in water, unsupported and supported floating on front and back, kicking on front and back with assistance.
4) Intermediate Shark – Comfortable in an aquatic environment, blowing bubbles and fully submerging under water with assistance, unsupported floating on front and back, kicking on front and back without assistance, jumping from side of pool.
5) Advanced Shark – Comfortable in an aquatic environment, blowing bubbles and ability to fully submerge and resurface without assistance, unsupported floating on front and back, kicking on front and back without assistance, jumping from side of pool, freestyle and backstroke.
Lesson Prices – per person
Lessons are available in sessions of 5 days at a time. Missed sessions are not automatically refundable, but circumstances can be discussed. If you wish to continue lessons, you can sign up for more sessions that work best for you.
