President/General Manager’s Message

Dear Members,

Summer is officially here (kind of), and there are a few updates I’d like to share with you.

Dad Joke of the Month: What do you call a fake noodle?
An impasta.

Please mark your calendars for our belated 50th Anniversary Pool Party on August 1 from 12:00–2:00PM. Yes, it’s technically our 51st anniversary now, but we’re sticking with the 50th anniversary celebration! The event is free, members only, and will feature complimentary food and drinks, raffle prizes, giveaways, a DJ, face painting, balloons, and plenty of fun for the kids.

Beginning June 5, Sun Light & Power will start removing
the solar panels from the clubhouse roof as part of the ongoing repair work stemming from the issues left behind by our previous solar contractor. The panels will be temporarily stored on the deck for approximately 2–4 weeks, which will reduce the amount of available space for fitness activities.

Roofers will be reroofing simultaneously as the panels are
being reattached to the roof. We may also need to close the front entrance for a day or two during the project. If that becomes necessary, we’ll direct members to enter through the pool area.

A reminder that summer guest fees are now in effect at $30 per person and will remain at that rate through Labor Day. Please also remember to register all guests at the front desk upon arrival. Members who bring unregistered guests will be charged double the current guest fee.

For our swimmers, weekday lane reservations now end at 11:00 AM. Free swim begins at 11:00 AM seven days a week and will continue through the end of the summer season.

As always, thank you for being part of the Oakland Hills community. We look forward to seeing you around the club this summer.

Group Fitness
Yulia Wynn, Director

Dear Members,

Summer is here, and with vacations, weekend trips, and changing schedules, it can be easy to fall out of routine. The good news? Staying active while traveling doesn’t have to mean long workouts or hours at the gym.

Even small amounts of movement can help maintain energy, reduce stress, and keep you feeling strong throughout the summer.

Simple Ways to Stay Active While Traveling
Take morning or evening walks
Stretch after long car rides or flights
Use hotel gyms or try quick bodyweight workouts
Swim, hike, bike, or explore on foot
Pack resistance bands for easy travel workouts

Remember:
Vacation is about balance — not perfection. Missing a workout is okay. The goal is to keep moving and return feeling refreshed, energized, and ready to continue your fitness journey.

June Challenge
Try to move for at least 20–30 minutes each day during your vacation or summer outings. Every step counts!
“Consistency beats perfection — especially during busy summer months.”
