President/General Manager’s Message
Dear Members,
Happy Holidays from all of us at OHTC! As we wrap up another
wonderful year together, we want to thank you for being part of this
community and for making 2025 such a memorable one, especially as we continue to celebrate the club’s 50th anniversary at our annual Holiday Party on December 13th.
Now, for a little holiday cheer — our Dad Joke of the Month:
What do you call a kid who doesn’t believe in Santa?
A rebel without a Claus.
As the holidays approach, please note our modified hours and
babysitting closures. The club will be open from 8 AM to 3 PM on
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and
Easter Sunday. There will be no babysitting on these dates, so please
plan ahead.
Beginning January 1, 2026, we are simplifying our membership structure by merging our Tennis and Fitness memberships into one all-inclusive membership that provides access to all areas of the club. We will continue to offer the same Individual, Couple, and Family tiers, with the following monthly dues:
Individual: $198 – Couple: $262 – Family: $321
And finally, a truly exciting announcement for those looking ahead to some sunshine and sea air: the next OHTC Cruise is scheduled to depart from Miami on July 3, 2027, aboard the Celebrity Beyond! This 8-night South Caribbean adventure will visit Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire. For details and reservations, please reach out to Christine Alexander, our fellow member, Aquafit instructor, and travel agent extraordinaire. She can be contacted at (510) 326-3299 or fishinginc@aol.com for all booking information.
Wishing you and your families a joyful holiday season. We look forward to seeing you around the club — and on the cruise ship!

on weekends throughout the fall! This is a great opportunity for
swimmers of all levels to continue building skills, staying active, and
having fun in the water.

Dear Members,
While Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, it can also be one of the most stressful — once you’ve factored in the hours-long car journeys, last-minute present shopping and the disruption to your everyday routine. Christmas can also be a time when people slip out of their fitness habits, but it doesn’t need to be like that. You can still enjoy yourself, eat delicious food and drink and keep your fitness goals on track. How can you find time to exercise during the busy Christmas season?
Schedule your workouts — Make exercise a planned part of your day by scheduling it in advance. Treat your workout sessions as non-negotiable. When you have a designated time slot for exercise on your calendar, you’re more likely to prioritize it and fit it around your daily schedule.
Morning workouts – Before the excitement of the day starts, consider beginning your day with a morning workout. While it may be challenging to wake up early, morning exercise can boost your energy levels and set a positive tone for the rest of the day. Plus, it frees up your evenings for Christmas movies!
Shorter, intense workouts — If you’re pressed for time, opt for shorter yet intense workouts like high-intensity workouts. These workouts can be completed in as little as 20-30 minutes but offer significant benefits in terms of calorie burn and building muscle strength.
Home workouts — Can’t make it to the gym? No problem. Home workouts are a convenient alternative.
This allows you to exercise in the comfort of your own home, on your schedule.
Stay flexible — Be flexible with your exercise routine and expectations. This time of year is a unique time, and it’s okay if you can’t stick to your regular workout plan. Adapt to your circumstances by finding shorter or alternative workouts that can easily fit into your schedule.
Finding time to exercise during the hectic festive season can sometimes be a challenge, but with a little bit of planning and a dash of creativity, it’s entirely possible!
